Hello there and thank you for taking the time to read my biography.
I am a bilingual Licensed Psychologist who works with adults who are experiencing learning differences, difficulties with executive functioning, and general feelings of overwhelm in life (i.e., anxiety, depression, etc.). The most rewarding thing about being a Licensed Psychologist is knowing that I can provide services and tools to individuals so they can achieve their maximum potential. My goal is to help stop the feelings of frustration and confusion and facilitate growth towards positive life outcomes.
As a testing psychologist, I work with individuals and families to help create a clearer picture of presenting problems in the context of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and cognitions. I share my knowledge about how the brain works in a way that helps people understand that their struggles are real. I have a natural ability to connect with people and be flexible on their path of discovery. I enjoy the process of collaborating with people to set goals and help them reach them. My focus for testing is ADHD and diagnostic differentiation. I use comprehensive batteries of tests and complete a comprehensive evaluation keeping in mind individuals’ history, culture, identity, and other important aspects of someone’s intersectionalities.
Aside from working at Minerva, I am the Associate Director of Practicum at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I have been an adjunct professor with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota for over five years. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California Lutheran University in California, a Master of Art degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. My clinical areas of interest include psychological testing for ADHD, trauma informed care, working with refugees and immigrants, and working with students. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked for Hennepin County Social Services for over 15 years.
I also provide supervision to doctoral level assessment practicum students and I am a board approved supervisor for those seeking a LPCC licensure.
I take the following insurances: Aetna, Cigna, Medica, HealthPartners, Optum/UHC, Medicare, Medicaid, South Country Alliance, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Hennepin Health.

I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of clinical concerns, including eating disorders and body-image distress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), LGBTQIA+ specific stressors, trauma, panic disorder, anxiety, and suicidality. I use a multidimensional framework that honors both the joy and pain of the human experience, recognizing the richness and complexity of each person’s intersecting identities. I also have a strong interest in supporting individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges.
I operate from the belief that each person is their own universe, deserving of deep curiosity, compassion, and connection. Therapy offers a rare space for this kind of exploration, one that is often missing in our everyday lives. It is an honor to walk alongside clients as they make meaning of their experiences and move through the complexities of being human. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and holistic. I draw from a variety of evidence-based models to meet each client’s unique needs and preferences. My work frequently explores themes of intersectionality, body liberation, perfectionism, core self identity, and the sociocultural forces that shape mental health.
I am committed to challenging harmful dominant cultural narratives and addressing the systemic barriers and social structures that influence mental health. My practice is rooted in the values of anti-racism, Health at Every Size (HAES), intersectional feminism, body liberation, and queer and trans theory. I strive to create a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, strengths-based, and client-led space where individuals can show up fully and authentically.
I bring nonjudgment and gentleness into our work together, with the intention of creating sustainable change in helping you move toward a life that is better aligned with your values.
I strive to create a space that feels comfortable, safe, and affirming for people of all identities, including BIPOC, queer, and neurodivergent individuals. I believe that struggle is a universal part of being human, and that everyone has the capacity to heal. I enjoy working with adolescents (11+) and adults navigating concerns related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
My approach is grounded in the wisdom of the body and an understanding of how our nervous systems shape our experiences. I often integrate mindfulness-based, holistic, polyvagal, trauma-informed, dialectical, and cognitive behavioral therapies, adapting our work to your unique needs.
I earned my master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and am currently pursuing LPCC licensure. Outside of our space, you can find me on a backpacking trip, taking a dance class, or wrapped in a blanket enjoying a Minnesota sunset.
Hello! I'm Sara, and my goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences with compassion and support. Healing happens within authentic, collaborative relationships, and I strive to meet each person exactly where they are.
I have interest in working with individuals of all ages who are navigating grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image concerns, and topics related to gender and sexuality. I follow a collaborative and integrative approach, drawing from person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and existential perspectives, which allows for exploration of patterns in thoughts and behaviors, developing coping strategies, while also making space for deeper reflection about identity, relationships, and purpose. I see therapy as a partnership — one that supports you in developing greater self-understanding, autonomy, and confidence as you navigate life’s complexities.
Seeking therapy is a meaningful step. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, grieving, questioning, or simply ready for change, I would be honored to support you.
